RETURN CUSTOMER

Feb

Web designers, doctors, and mechanics.

They don’t do the job right the first time, they merely get the job done. You’d have no reason to come back and spend more money if the job was done correctly the first time with the best parts available.

They are in the business of return customers. It’s a delicate balance of coming back for more and feeling satisfied.

It’s kind of like going to a hooker. You have to be happy enough to come back, otherwise you’d go find another hooker who might get the job done faster and for less money.

Don’t get fucked in the ass by your doctor. Unless of course that’s just what the patient ordered.

BAD IDEA + $ = GOOD IDEA

Feb

2012

The difference between a good idea and a bad idea is money. When you spend two years on a project that does nothing but cost you money, all those eye rolls from friends and family begin to ad up.

Take the pet rock for instance. This idea was conceived drunk in a bar in 1975 by a fellow by the name of Gary Dahl. He was sick of his friends complaining about their pets so he came up with the idea of a pet that didn’t eat drink or shit. The pet rock was born. He sold 1.5 million pet rocks in a matter of six months. The Pet Rock was bought by the Mego corperation in 2009 and is still produced till this day. (Mego coincidentally was the creator of the most famous version of the KISS dolls from the mid-70′s. Speaking of KISS, I’m sure they were laughed at more than a few times when they told their friends they were going to paint their faces, wear 8 inch platform heels, and run around half naked playing Rock n Roll.)

On any given night in a bar we can each come up with dozens of ideas and forget all about them the next day. It takes real guts to turn your idea into a career.

My bad idea hits shelves all over North America in 27 days. What’s your bad idea? Leave comments below!
